Connecting instead of
self protecting

A workshop for people who feel like so many of their relationships are exhausting or unfulfilling and want to find a better way.

This program is about confronting the ways self-protective habits can sabotage relationships and what we can do to show up authentically and invite others to do the same.

About This Workshop

Thanks for checking out this program. This class was created after I was flooded with questions about how to create authentic connection after this video went viral here and here.

During this workshop, I talk about how the things that made us special or kept us safe as a child can become the barriers to authentic relationship as an adult.

Whether you were the helper, the people pleaser, the stoic, protector, practical joker, smart one, scapegoat, favorite or something else, the roles that earned you praise or protected you can become the thing you hide behind as an adult.

And it’s exhausting. Not only because it takes energy to keep up appearances. But because so often, we’re doing it everywhere we go.

For those becoming aware of their self-protective mechanisms in relationship, it can be shocking to realize… I’m doing this so much so that I don’t even know who I am anymore.

This is where we’ll begin.

In class I talk about how to use mindfulness and embodiment practices to get behind our walls and start relating more authentically. And along the way we’ll acknowledge some important truths: Not everyone is safe or deserving of our energy.
